Job Description

In this role, you will be part of the Agile Project Management team within the Product and Engineering organization of Unit4. The team is responsible for creating, utilizing, and maintaining a standard approach to managing software development projects with defined and scalable processes that facilitate the production of software on time, with the right scope and quality and enable the organization to achieve predictability and transparency in those projects. 

As an Agile Project Manager at Unit4, you are a natural facilitator that relies on coaching and servant leadership to foster collaboration across organizational functions in order to successfully manage R&D projects in a scaled agile environment, from initiation to delivery. 

Using the insights and feedback gained in their projects, Agile Project Managers collectively nurture and evolve the scaled agile methodology – which underpins the R&D way of working – and secure its successful implementation across the entire product portfolio. 

What you will do:

  • You will facilitate the planning and execution of software development projects across product areas using Unit4’s scaled agile R&D methodology 
  • You will foster collaboration within the project team and towards other project stakeholders 
  • You will make sure potential project exceptions are identified and appropriately handled (i.e., risks, issues, dependencies, and plan changes) 
  • You will ensure project communication to a variety of stakeholders across organizational functions and levels, tailored to their information needs 
  • You will coach the project team to secure successful methodology implementation  
  • You will collaborate with the rest of the Agile Project Management team to continuously evolve and improve the R&D methodology 
  • You will contribute to project portfolio management activities

Qualifications

Your profile:

You are an experienced project manager with a good command of agile methodologies and a solid understanding of software development processes. You thrive on collaboration and enjoy the role of a servant leader, capable of coaching and facilitation in diverse groups. You possess excellent communication skills in English and are great at building positive and constructive relationships across a large organization. You are thorough, independent, and result-oriented.  

Your background:

  • 3-5 years of work experience with a proven track record of managing medium to large projects within the IT industry, preferably in software development 
  • A higher education degree, preferably with a major in business, science, technology, engineering, mathematics (or similar) 
  • Solid understanding of software development processes and documented experience with agile methodologies, including Scrum and scaled agile frameworks, such as LeSS and SAFe 
  • Experience from working within distributed multicultural environments 
  • Experience from driving process improvement and implementation work 
  • Knowledge of project management and productivity tools (preferably from the Microsoft family), such as Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Project 
  • Agile and/or project management certification is a plus

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written 
  • Excellent communication skills with a precise and clarifying approach   
  • Ability to lead without formal authority, coach, and facilitate collaboration across organizational levels and functions 
  • Structured and analytical approach, with an ability to process large amounts of information, think conceptually and see the big picture 
  • Ability to cope with a fast-paced work environment and adapt to change 
  • Result-oriented and independent, with a strong focus on quality 
  • Trustworthy and empathetic, able to drive progress and meaningful change in cross-cultural project teams
